Our guests come to us when their bodies need an escape to our cedar hot pools infused with mountain water. Our massage therapists are trained in a range of therapeutic and relaxation massage techniques using New Zealand’s finest natural ingredients: Kawakawa balm, Manuka Honey, Rotorua Thermal Mud, and Pure Fiji’s cold-pressed botanicals.

Full-body deep tissue massage
The Onsen Revival is a 60-minute full-body deep tissue massage designed to release tension after skiing, hiking, or days spent exploring the region.
Realign muscle tissue and target the areas that carry tension the most: lower back, shoulders, neck and legs.

Full-body relaxation massage
The signature Onsen Hot Pools & Day Spa relaxation massage. The Paradise Bespoke uses Pure Fiji’s cold-pressed nut oils and infused with tropical flowers, to calm the nervous system, ease circulating stress, and return the body to a rhythm close to its natural state.
It is everything a relaxation massage should be: unhurried, attentive, and entirely yours.
Suitable for solo guests and couples, and available in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

75-minute full-body hot stone massage + 45-minute hydrating facial with Gua-Sha face massage.
Our most indulgent two-hour experience. Warmed stones and Pure Fiji tropical flower oils. The deep, unhurried rhythm of hot stones and massage therapy work together to dissolve muscle tension, restore circulation, and ease a busy mind.
The massage is followed by a 45-minute hydrating facial with Gua Sha face massage to lift, nourish, and restore.

Exclusive hot pool + treatment for two guests, side by side in one twin-share room.
Begin with a soak together in the Original Onsen, an exclusive cedar-lined hot pool with views of the Shotover River valley, then move into our twin-share treatment room.
Allow 2–4 hours. This massage and soak package includes towels, a robe, and a complimentary drink and snack to enjoy during your soak. You also get refreshments in the relaxation lounge afterwards.

Our signature Aotearoa Journey treatment draws on the natural richness of New Zealand, using Rotorua Thermal Mud Scrub, Manuka Honey, and Kawakawa balm to create a deeply restorative experience.
The Aotearoa Journey lasts 2 hours, and you get the full experience: begin with a back exfoliation and a purifying mud mask, followed by a full-body massage with soothing Kawakawa balm, and a rejuvenating Manuka Honey facial to finish.

Yes. Onsen Hot Pools & Day Spa is a boutique retreat, and our pools and treatment rooms book out quickly, especially during peak season. We recommend booking 3–4 months ahead for the best availability. Check the website for last-minute openings or join our waitlist.
Yes. Our Treatment Only option lets you book any 1-hour or 2-hour treatment without a soak. That said, the pool-and-treatment combination is the experience most guests describe as the highlight of their Queenstown trip. We’d recommend pairing them if you can.
Yes. The Original l Onsen + Treatment experience is designed for 2 guests and includes side-by-side access to our exclusive pool and a shared treatment room. Each guest can choose a different treatment from the menu.
Our Paradise Bespoke Massage is suitable for the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, and the Seasonal Care Facial by Sothys is suitable for all trimesters of pregnancy. Please mention your pregnancy at the time of booking so we can advise and prepare accordingly.
We offer a complimentary shuttle service from central Queenstown; simply add it to your reservation at the time of booking. You can also self-drive to 160 Arthurs Point Road, Arthurs Point, approximately 10 minutes from Queenstown.
Treatment-only massages begin from $170 per person. Pool and massage packages (45-minute soak + 1-hour treatment) begin from $265 per person with the Original Onsen, or from $285 with the Oval Onsen. Two-hour treatment packages are also available. See the full pricing on our Spa Treatments page.

Child Policy
To ensure we retain a relaxed, quiet environment, we do not allow children under the age of 16 to be in the treatment rooms at any time.
You must be 16 years and older to enjoy a treatment at Onsen Hot Pools & Day Spa. For guests aged 16 and 17 years, treatments are limited to our Paradise Bespoke Massage or our Seasonal Care Facial.
Note: All treatments are charged at the adult rate regardless of age.
