Retractable roof
Young children can easily become overheated and dehydrated so for health and safety reasons, we do not allow children under 5 years to enter the pool rooms at any time. Evening sessions are restricted to 12+.
Guests receive towels and drinking water, additional drinks and snacks can be purchased on arrival.
Our classic cedar-lined hot pools offer a uniquely Kiwi twist on a traditional Japanese bathing experience. Perched above the Shotover River, each exclusive-use pool is filled with pure mountain water and gently heated to a soothing approx 38.3°C.

Health Advisory
We advise anyone with an underlying medical or health condition to consult their doctor should they have any queries regarding the use of the hot pools.
As a guideline, we do not recommend bathing during pregnancy due to the temperature of the pools. That said, we do still have women that are pregnant that still choose to bathe. If you have any concerns about having a Hot Pool during your pregnancy, please consult your GP or obstetrician.
Child Policy
As per our health and safety policy, we do not allow children under the age of 5 to enter the hot pool or pool room as they can easily become overheated and dehydrated.
Ages 5 to 15 must be accompanied by a paying adult over the age of 16. We ask that children are accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
To ensure we retain a relaxed, quiet environment after hours for all guests, evening sessions are restricted to 12+.

Evening Pools From Sunset
All evening bookings after sunset will experience our evening lanterns for an even more memorable soak. Surround yourself with a sky of stars and Japanese lanterns from sunset. Please click below for sunset times.
Allow 1–2 hours, which includes your changing time. You’ll have exclusive use of your cedar-lined hot pool for a 60-minute soak.
Your pool is heated to approximately 38.3°C, with a retractable roof so you can soak open-air or covered, depending on the weather.
From 1 to 4 guests: $117 for one, $175 for two, $225 for three and $260 for four.
Children aged 5–11 are welcome before 5pm (last booking 4:45pm) at $30 each, and must be accompanied by a paying adult. Children under 5 aren’t permitted in the pool rooms, and evening sessions are reserved for ages 12 and over.
You’ll have exclusive use of your own pool. The Original pools share adjoining walls and have a glass door, so while you won’t see other guests, you may occasionally hear other people talking.
Towels and drinking water are included. Snacks, platters, soft drinks and beverages are available to purchase. Outside food and drink aren’t permitted.
