Young children can easily become overheated and dehydrated so for health and safety reasons, we do not allow children under 5 years to enter the pool rooms at any time. Evening sessions are restricted to 12+.
Guests receive towels and drinking water, additional soft drinks and snacks can be purchased on arrival.
Enjoy a soak whilst also knowing you are supporting local charities and groups who are doing amazing things in the region.
One Original Onsen is available at 8.30am each day. The charity pool is $75 for 1-4 people with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the selected charity at the end of each two-month period.
Pools are released every Monday for the following week.
Our current chosen Charity is the Otago Medical Research Foundation.
The OMRF is a charitable trust established in 1967 for “the furtherance of medical research in Otago”. For nearly six decades, the Foundation has supported innovative, early-stage medical research projects and student scholarships, funding over $12 million in vital research across our region.
The OMRF receives no Government funding. Every discovery, every breakthrough, and every opportunity for their researchers to tackle pressing health challenges – from cancer and heart disease to brain health and diabetes – is made possible through the generosity of our community.
Whilst this research is undertaken here in Otago, its impact reaches far beyond our region, contributing to national and international advances in health and wellbeing. Quite simply, the outcomes benefit us all.

We advise anyone with an underlying medical or health condition to consult their doctor should they have any queries regarding the use of the hot pools.
Child Policy
As per our health and safety policy, we do not allow children under the age of 5 to enter the hot pool or pool room as they can easily become overheated and dehydrated.
Ages 5 to 15 must be accompanied by a paying adult over the age of 16. We ask that children are accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
To ensure we retain a relaxed, quiet environment after hours for all guests, evening sessions are restricted to 12+.
