Onsen Hot Pools & Day Spa is located at 160 Arthurs Point Road, just a 10-minute drive from Queenstown’s town centre. Whether you’re arriving by shuttle, car, or public transport, getting here is part of the experience.

Self Drive

Nestled in the historic settlement of Arthurs Point, once a bustling gold mining town, Onsen is a world away from the everyday, yet only 10km from central Queenstown and 13km from picturesque Arrowtown.

Getting here from Queenstown:
Take Gorge Road from the top of Shotover Street toward Arthurs Point. You’ll cross a one-lane bridge near the Shotover Jet base – then begin a gentle climb. Look for The General Store on the right – we’re located just beside it.

Parking:
We have limited, free on-site parking for cars only. We do not have space for camper vans/motor homes etc. There is limited on-street parking and paid parking near our location.

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your soak or 30 minutes before your soak and treatment to ensure a relaxed check-in.

Access:
From our car park, it’s a short, well-signposted 100m walk down a winding track or stairway to our main retreat building. Our retreat is located down below road level on the banks of the Shotover River. There are several steps, and while a walking track is also available, it is long and gently sloped – suitable for most but worth noting if mobility is limited.

Complimentary Shuttle

Let us take the stress out of getting here. Our complimentary shuttle offers a convenient and comfortable 10-minute ride between central Queenstown and Onsen – available by request, subject to availability.

To ensure a seamless experience, please book your shuttle with our team at the same time as your Onsen reservation.

Shuttle Service highlights:

10-minute journey to/from Queenstown
Seats up to 9 passengers
Available for on-the-hour bookings only (e.g. 3:00pm, 4:00pm)
The shuttle departs central Queenstown 30 minutes before your booking time (e.g. 2:30pm, 3:30pm). See below for pick up details
The return shuttle departs from Onsen at quarter past the hour
Bookings are essential and subject to availability

Please wait on the brown bench seats outside Café Marmolada (43 Camp Street)

Important notes:

Shuttle is not available for bookings of 10 or more guests
We are not able to provide transport to or from individual accommodation
The shuttle departs promptly at half past the hour so please arrive early to avoid missing your ride
Missed shuttles are the guest’s responsibility and may result in forfeiting your appointment
